Dog saved after suspected botched neutering by owner

DETROIT – In a disturbing case of animal abuse,  Detroit Dog Rescue members say they have saved a dog that someone apparently tried to neuter themselves.

The dog was mutilated with his abdomen cut, and the rescue group says these signs point to a botched neutering.

The group believes someone dropped  the dog off in a Detroit park when things went wrong.

The dog, which has since been named Chandler, must now undergo surgery, which is expected to cost approximately $5,000.
