DETROIT – Nearly half a million are without power in Southeast Michigan after high winds blew through the area Wednesday afternoon.
DTE Energy said restoration updates are not available until the weather has passed. The High Wind Warning is in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

DTE says the expect to have restoration estimates Thursday.
The high winds have resulted in more than 2,000 downed power lines, so far, with gusts exceeding 60 mph.
DTE says the unusually warm weather this winter has made the ground softer than usual, causing trees to be uprooted.
Crews from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Pennsylvania will be in Michigan Thursday to help DTE crews.
DTE Energy is reporting around 488,000 customers are without power. The outages are scattered throughout southeast Michigan, and that number is expected to grow.
