MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – A former Bishop Foley High School teacher has pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old student in her classroom.
Kathryn Ronk originally was charged with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony that could carry a sentence of life in prison. Her pretrial was scheduled for Thursday, but she pleaded guilty to the lesser charges on Wednesday. In exchange, the first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges have been dropped.

The 29-year-old Spanish teacher engaged in multiple sex acts with the male student last year, according to the police. She taught 9th and 10th-grade students.
Her sentencing is scheduled for March 17.
