Full statement from district:

Dear AHS Parents,

Late last night, we were made aware that an Athens student had allegedly made threats against specific students at the high school.

Troy Police were able to intervene before the threats were realized, and the student who made the threats will not be back in school, at least until the investigation is concluded. The school day will continue as normal today.

We take any and all threats very seriously and are proud of the student(s) who brought this to the attention of authorities. In all cases like this we work collaboratively with police and are grateful that this collaborative relationship led to the quick handling of this matter.

As always, we appreciate your support.
