Family seeks 19-year-old missing since July 6 in Detroit

Osean Lockett Jr. last seen by his mother at gas station on Fenkell Road near Meyers Road

DETROIT – Brenda Burton wants to know what happened to her 19-year-old son Osean Lockett Jr., who she calls Ham.

She dropped him off July 6 at a BP gas station on Fenkell Road near Meyers Road on Detroit's west side to meet up with his friends. Burton began to worry once it got late and Osean wasn't back home.

She got one text from him saying he was OK but she couldn't reach him after that.

"I have walked the streets. I have been in vacant houses. I have been in alleys. I have been in buildings and still no Ham," she said.

His family describes Osean as a good guy. Earlier that day the West Side Academy graduate started work with the N.S.O. Adult Youth Program in Detroit boarding up vacant schools. His father says the not-knowing is torture.

"You have to give me a second. I have never been through nothing like this. I don't know nobody been through nothing like this. But it really hurts. I need to find my son," said Burton.

Tips are coming in and police are following up the leads. Investigators have no idea what might have happened to Osean.

His family is hoping the Crime Stoppers reward will help solve this missing persons case.

"I have faith in him that I am going to find my son. If anybody can assist that would be wonderful," said Osean Lockett Sr.

There is a reward for anyone with information which leads to an arrest. Tips and can remain anonymous. Call 800-SPEAK-UP.
