The two-acre sanctuary, in the southwest corner of the park, is equipped with fecund meadows and trees, a flowing stream, and dens. The habitat also contains elevated rock outcroppings, where the wolves can survey their surroundings.
The habitat's development was made possible through a donation of $500,000, gifted by Shery and David Cotton.
In celebration of the opening of the Cotton Family Wolf Wilderness, the Detroit Zoo is inviting people whose names include "wolf", or a variant of the word, to enjoy complimentary admission to the society.
All that eligible attendees need to do is produce valid photo identification. This will verify that their first, middle, or last name fits the criteria for free entry.
Parking, rides, attractions, food, and other additional purchases are not included.
