Fraser Public Schools campaign receives national recognition

Fraser Public Schools has received the Golden Achievement Award for their 2012-2013 enrollment campaign from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).

The Golden Achievement Award recognizes a select group of districts at the national level for successful public relations programs in education.

Award judges carefully sought outstanding achievement in the four steps of a public relations program: analysis of the need, planning to meet the need, execution and communication, and formal evaluation.  Fraser's campaign, as declared in a Letter of Commendation from NSPRA, met each area of criteria.

"Receiving this award is confirmation of our efforts to professionally communicate with our community and parents regarding our efforts to provide a high quality education for our students.  I am particularly proud of the work of our Community Relations Coordinator, Nicole Malak, for her efforts and vision in this area" Dr. David Richards, Superintendent of Fraser Public Schools.

In the award-winning campaign, Fraser Public Schools deployed a series of publications and advertisements in Macomb County and the surrounding metro-Detroit area to reach families that may be interested in the opportunities offered within the District.

"Being a Schools of Choice district requires us to communicate effectively and in a manner which will appeal to our potential families. The growth we have seen in our enrollment is a testament to our communication plan and the strategies we have implemented," said Richards.

In a climate where conversations regarding public education are not always positive, Fraser Public Schools works to maintain a positive voice by sharing the countless positive items happening in their schools, including a recent iPad deployment which ranks the largest in the state and the student learning that drives the innovation within Fraser classrooms.

We want to continue the important conversation about public education and the opportunities available to every student to ensure they receive the best education possible," said Nicole Malak, Community Relations Coordinator for Fraser Public Schools. "Fraser's focus is on student learning.  We offer personalized learning opportunities to meet each student's individual needs."

Earlier this year, Fraser Public Schools also received two Distinguished Awards from the Michigan School Public Relations Association, the Michigan chapter of NSPRA, for their electronic newsletter and a District video.
