Friends, classmates mourn 17-year-old killed in Dearborn Heights 'She was a bright student; it was a waste of talent' No description found
Four children were killed and their mother was injured Wednesday morning in Dearborn Heights where a father turned himself in to police.
One of the victims, 17-year-old Kara Allen, step-daughter of the suspect, is being remembered by her peers on social media.
Allen was a senior at Southfield High School for Arts and Technology. She was a member of the school news staff, varsity cheerleading team, and was a member of the National Honor Society.
According to the Southfield Times , students were informed of the tragedy by their teachers and counselors.
“It doesn’t make sense,” said Allen’s former English teacher Virna Hobbs-Calhoun. “She was a bright student; it was a waste of talent.”
