Gordie Howe's health declines

Hockey Hall of Famer takes a turn for the worse after second stroke

The family of Red Wings legend Gordie Howe says his health has taken another turn for the worse after suffering a second stroke.

86-Year-Old Howe suffered a massive stroke last month and then a second one last week.

His condition seemed to be improving, but the strokes have led to other health complications.

His family says chronic back pain, dementia, and high blood pressure are all taking a toll on him.  Howe played more than 1,700 games in the NHL and scored more than 800 goals.  He is widely known as hockey's greatest player.
