Haven for car lovers planned in Pontiac

'M1 Concourse' will have condos, vehicle storage, retail, restaurants

Spring can't come soon enough for developers of a planned mecca in Pontiac for car collectors.

Construction is slated to begin in mid-May on the M1 Concourse, which will include a 1.5-mile performance track, 264 condos, retail, restaurants and garages.

"We have our approvals and our financing," said developer Brad Oleshansky.

The 87-acre site near the intersection of Woodward Avenue and South will be transformed into a place for collectors to both store and show off their cars.

"We'll have events every night and weekend, car shows, swap meets, auctions and activities and sponsored events. It's unlimited," Oleshansky said.

Developers have already sold 65 of the initial 80 condos that will be available. They're going for $100,000 to $250,000 a piece.

"We have a large variety of owners, from the who's who of the area,  to local Pontiac residents.  We have auto dealers, athletes, and our regular car guys from Michigan," said M1 Concourse marketer Matt Zubrick.
