Helicopter takes off after hitting power lines in Sanilac County

SANILAC COUNTY, Mich. – Officials in Sanilac County say that a call reported a helicopter landing in front of a manufacturing business in the 1000 block of W. Sanilac Road, taking out some of the power lines.

The reported incident happened at around 1:05 p.m. Wednesday. The caller said they were without power when the helicopter landed.

According to an officer who responded to the scene, the helicopter was on the ground with the rotor spinning, but quickly took off and left heading southeast.

The Moore Township Fire Department responded and awaited as power crews repaired the damaged power lines.

There were no injuries reported in the incident. Police are investigating the case.
