Hundreds of vintage cars bring people to Concours d'Elegance in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, Mich. – The Concours d'Elegance of America at the Historic Inn at St. John's in Plymouth brought people from all over this weekend to see the display of vintage cars. Hundreds of the most unique automobiles in America came to Detroit from around the world.

These were cars you just don't see around anymore, restored into true treasures of automotive history. Classics and customs cover decades of vintage cars. This is the 37th year for this showcase.

"As we celebrate our 37th year, we will feature more than 300 cars ranging from Bonneville Speedsters to Vintage Bentley's," said Larry Moss, Chariman of Concours d'Elegance of America. "We wish all who attend to have a great time."

"The Concours d' Elegance is one of the top three Concours events in the United States," said Brian Joseph, Chairman of Car Collection. "The show field will contain cars for every taste from the turn of the century to more recent vintage. All cars appear by invitation only."

Bill Ganahal restored a 1936 Ford Pierson Brothers Coup. It's a show stopper. People remember its California history of hot rodding and racing.

"It's history, it's neat to include in a Concours," Ganahal said.

Two cars of major interest belong to Detroit Tigers Second Baseman Ian Kinsler and Catcher Alex Avila. Kinsler will be showing his 1967 Hot Red Chevelle Super Sport while Avila will be bringing his 1974 Black Camaro Z-28.

Other local contributors to the Concours d' Elegance include WADL and Word Network CEO Kevin Adell, who will be displaying his Lamborghini VTSVGTR. Only four of these cars were ever built. Adell will also be featuring his 1965 Aluminum Body Chrome Cobra.

Organizers say this Concours is one of the top car showcases in the nation.
