Illinois manufacturer recalls "Chicken Kiev" product

"Antioch Farms" product linked to Salmonella outbreak

Illinois manufacturer "Antioch Farms" is recalling more than 14 tons of their "Chicken Kiev" product.


The recall was initiated at the request of the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Services (FSIS) after health officials and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention attributed a cluster of salmonella cases to the frozen, ready-to-cook product. At least six people have fallen ill, after consuming the product.

The affected product is the single five ounce plastic packet of "Raw Stuffed Chicken Breast Breaded, Boneless Breast of Chicken with Rib Meat ‘A La Kiev.'" It comes with sell by dates of October 1 and October 7, 2015. The product also bears the establishment number "P-1258? inside the USDA mark.


The product was shipped to stores in 16 states, including Michigan.
