DETROIT – Interim Detroit Police Chief Chester Logan spoke out Friday morning about several issues, including his future with the department.
Logan said he did not apply for the chief's job and that he plans to retire once a new chief is hired.
He also talked about officer Patrick Hill, who was wounded during a shoot-out in early April.
Logan said Hill was recently moved from Henry Ford Hospital into a long-term care facility and is still in a coma, but that it is not medically induced.
He said Hill's wife "has helped DPD during this time as they hope for his recovery."
Logan spoke to Local 4 during an annual Detroit Police Interfaith Vigil for fallen and wounded officers.
He declines to talk about current Mayor Dave Bing or the city's Emergency Manager.
