Jewish Community Center day camp counselor faces child porn charges

Counselor accused of filming, photographing nude boys in locker room

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – A counselor at the Jewish Community Center's day camp faces child pornography charges after federal investigators said he was filming young boys in a locker room.

Matthew Kuppe, 21, has been arrested and charged with the production, the possession and the distribution of child pornography.

Investigators say Kuppe posted to a website several nude photos of young boys in a locker room setting. The photos depicted the prepubescent boys' genitalia.

He also exchanged emails about one of the photographed boys with an undercover officer this month, according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday. Moreover, Kuppe is accused of receiving other emails containing child pornography.

The criminal complaint contains graphic details of Kuppe's alleged sexual contact with one of the boys in the locker room.
