DETROIT – A Detroit man has been ordered to stand trial for an open murder charge in the death of 24-year-old Kajavia Globe.
Maxwell Brack, 24, has been remanded to jail while he awaits his trial. Judge Shannon Holmes heard from six witnesses last week before resuming the hearing Thursday. She decided there was enough evidence to find Brack over for trial.
Globe’s sister, Alondria Burns, said her sister’s boyfriend was the first to call and tell her that her sister never came home on Dec. 11. Burns went to police the next day to report her sister missing.
Globe's body was found Dec. 14 in a trash bin on Fielding Street.
Assistant Wayne County Medical Examiner Dr. Lokman Sung testified that Globe’s body was delivered for an autopsy still in the trash bin. He said her death was classified a homicide, but a cause of death is undetermined. He said there were no signs of injury to her internal organs and no sign that she died from natural causes.
Toxicology reports didn’t reveal a cause either, Sung said.

Police released surveillance photos that showed a masked person using Globe's ATM card at a bank.
Brack was arrested Feb. 5.
