4 metro Detroit schools closed due to threats

LAKE ORION, Mich. – Several metro Detroit schools were closed Monday after they received threats.

The following schools are closed while police investigate the threats, which were all similarly made on social media.

• Lake Orion High School
• Lincoln High School in Warren
• University Prep Academy
• University Prep Science and Math

Van Buren Public Schools said the district also received a threat via Instagram, but police said the threat is not credible and schools will remain open.
