Michigan man who sent nude photos to minor caught with child porn on phone, cops say

CHEBOYGAN, Mich. – A Michigan man who sent nude photos to a minor was caught with child pornography on his cellphone, police said.

Michigan State Police troopers began investigating Jamie Allen Rocheleau, 50, of Cheboygan, in January 2024 due to allegations that he sent inappropriate photos of himself to a child in Gaylord.

Officers went to Rocheleau’s home and took him into custody. They also seized electronic devices.

Computer crimes experts said they found evidence of child pornography on Rocheleau’s cellphone. Those pictures were not related to the original investigation, police said.

Officials issued a new arrest warrant, and Rocheleau was arrested Thursday, April 11, 2024, at his home. He was taken to the Cheboygan County Jail.

Rocheleau was arraigned Friday at 89th District Court on charges of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and possession of child sexually abusive material.

He was given a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.

The next court date is scheduled for 2 p.m. May 10.
