Cooler, drier conditions expected mid-week in Metro Detroit -- here’s what to expect

Tuesday highs in lower 70s, Wednesday highs in upper 70s

4Warn Weather – Cooler and drier air are on the way to Metro Detroit behind a cold front, but Southeast Michigan will have wet weather ahead of it.

On Monday night, it will be cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms moving northeastward. Most of the rain activity will move east out of Michigan after midnight. There is a slight chance of showers lingering during the overnight hours. Lows will be in the mid-50s to 60 degrees. Winds will be out of the southwest at 8 to 16 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tuesday

A cold front will sweep through the area during the early hours of Tuesday morning, bringing drier and cooler air. The day will begin with mostly cloudy skies and become mostly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 70s. Southwesterly winds will be 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday night, it will be mostly clear, with lows around 50 degrees.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be partly cloudy, with highs in the mid-70s. Lows will be in the mid-50s.

Dry conditions are likely to continue into Thursday, but rain chances will pick up Thursday night. Plan for showers on Friday and a slight chance of an isolated shower on Saturday and Sunday. Highs will range from the mid-70s to near 80 degrees for the rest of the workweek.
