Man arrested after argument over 'Pokemon Go,' victim remains in ICU

MOUNT CLEMENS,Mich – Police say a man is in intensive care after a fight broke out over the popular cellphone game "Pokémon Go."

Authorities from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was walking through the city of Mount Clemens near Main Street when he encountered three individuals, a younger man and two women.

Police say an argument ensued after the victim mentioned the use of the younger man’s use of his phone to play the game.

Macomb police say the argument escalated when the younger man hit the older man in the face, causing the older man to fall to the ground.

The suspect and the two women left the scene and ran into a nearby bar.

Macomb police were notified by a witness of the assault and arrived to find the victim lying on the sidewalk, bleeding from a cut on the back of his head.

The man was treated at the scene by the Mount Clemens Fire Department before being transported to McLaren-Macomb Hospital.

Police say the man was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Sheriff deputies identified the suspect, 33-year-old Ryan Jeffrey Steiner, with the help of witnesses.

Steiner was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
