Man arrested after bank robbery, police chase

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A Detroit man was taken into custody Saturday morning after robbing a bank in Roseville and leading police on a chase through Detroit, according to police.

The robbery happened at the TCF Bank on Little Mack Avenue around 9 a.m.

The 27-year-old man entered the bank and gave a note to the teller demanding money. He showed what appeared to be a handgun in the waistline of his pants.

The teller put an unknown amount of money in a small duffel bag and gave it to the suspect.

The man fled the bank and was located by police in the area of Interstate 94 and Harper Avenue driving a blue 2003 Chrysler Sebring.

A brief vehicle pursuit ended in the area of McNichols Road and Bradford Avenue. The suspect was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

The suspected weapon has not been recovered.

No one was injured in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
