Man walking dog attacked with baseball bat over $5

DETROIT – Detroit police are searching for a group of men who allegedly beat a man who was walking their dog.

Their weapon of choice? A baseball bat.

Robert Glenn was walking his dog around 3 a.m. near his home off Chalmers on Detroit’s east side  when he says three men approached him and attacked him with a Louisville slugger.

“One hit me on the shoulder, and the other one almost broke my wrist right here. It’s pretty bad,”  said a bloody and bruised Robert, who can only move one hand after the attack.

“What did they want? I was just trying to make it home,” he said.

Robert’s wife, Shelly, said the problem is that too many people are hanging out at the gas station nearby, and they’re there waiting for people like Robert who are walking around at night.

“Just can’t come out here at night,” said Shelly

Robert escaped the attack with a few bruises and says the thieves got away with a whopping $5 bill.
