Father found dead with several gunshot wounds in southwest Detroit home

45-year-old man killed, Detroit police say

DETROIT – Detroit police say a 45-year-old man was found dead at a home in the 2600 block of Wabash Street on the city's southwest side.

Police found Brian Ray inside his home at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Ray's family said he worked odd jobs in the area. They believe he likely knew his killer.

The family said there were no obvious signs of forced entry at his home.

Ray had two adult daughters. One of his daughters said she just spoke with Ray this weekend.

Ray was shot several times and had a gunshot wound in the back of his head, arms and legs, police said.

Neighbors told police they heard a barrage of gunfire Saturday night.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police.
