Man seriously injured in alleged drunk driving crash

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Auburn Hills police say a 21-year-old man from Davidson, Michigan suffered life threatening injuries Friday after the car he was riding in was hit while driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Lapeer Road.

Police say the man was a backseat passenger in a 2007 black Chevy Trailblazer driving north in the southbound lanes of Lapeer Road. The Trailblazer tried to turn into the BP Gas Station south of Brown Road and was hit by a Grey 2006 Nissan Pathfinder.

The 21-year-old man was taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Authorities arrested the 21-year-old woman driving the Trailblazer for operating while intoxicated. She is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

The front seat passenger of the Trailblazer and the driver of the Pathfinder were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and later released.
