Man shot after alleged carjacking on Detroit's west side

DETROIT – A 29-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot on the city’s west side, Detroit police said

A witness told police that the victim approached him and said someone tried to steal his car.

The witness took the victim to the hospital, where he underwent surgery for multiple gunshot wounds to the back.

Police said the victim’s 2013 Dodge Charger is missing.

Investigations are underway.
