The 28-year-old man was shot multiple times while driving the busy stretch of freeway. He was shot in the back of the head, thigh, shoulder, and lower back. He was rushed to the hospital and his condition is unknown.

“It’s very fortunate that no one else, passersby or other motorists, were hit as a result of this incident,” Detroit Police Lt. Calvin Hart Jr. said. “There were multiple gun shots at the scene.”

The vehicle was riddled with bullets with seven in the door panel alone.

A woman was a passenger in the car and was cut by broken glass.

“This incident doesn’t involve anything random,” Hart said. “There may have been some type of incident or dispute that led up to this shooting occurring.”
