DETROIT – A 36-year-old man stood up to a robber at gunpoint and was shot in the ankle on Detroit's west side.

The incident happened on the 19000 block of Margareta Street around noon.
The man got out of his car and was walking toward his home when he was approached by a gunman who wanted to rob him.
The man didn't give anything up and was shot in the ankle.
The man was able to get into his home and call police.
The gunman got into a car and drove away.
