Man leaves Pontiac bank without money after attempted robbery

PONTIAC, Mich. – Police are searching for a man who is accused of trying to rob a Pontiac bank by handing a note demanding money to a bank teller.

Officers responded at 12:21 p.m. Friday to reports of an attempted robbery at the PNC Bank on North Perry Street near Glenwood Avenue.

Employees said a man walked into the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money and implying that he had a gun.

The teller walked away from the area and the man fled the bank without any money.

Police tried to track the man with a K-9 unit but were unsuccessful.

No gun was seen during the incident.
