DETROIT – A man walking along Interstate 94 at Oakwood Sunday around 10 p.m. was killed after he was struck by more than one vehicle.
When drivers realized a pedestrian had been hit, they formed a barricade around him until police arrived. However, the man died at the scene from his injuries.
There was a white SUV pulled over along the interstate with a flat tire. It is believed it may have been the vehicle the pedestrian was driving before it became disabled.
Police are still working to identify the pedestrian and figure out why he was walking in the lanes of the freeway
Two lanes remain blocked on I-94 westbound at Oakwood. Police said it will be closed while an accident reconstruction team investigates.
