Michigan State Police chase wanted serial bank robber on I-75 in metro Detroit

State police say man was wanted by FBI for multiple bank robberies

DETROIT – Michigan State Police say a wanted serial bank robber led troopers and Brownstown Township police officers on a chase Wednesday afternoon on northbound Interstate 75 from Downriver to Ferndale.  

State police say the man was wanted by the FBI and considered armed and dangerous. He told police he would "not go back to prison," according to MSP.

The chase started in Brownstown Township and went through downtown Detroit all the way to 8 Mile Road and Fort Street in Ferndale. That's where state troopers blocked and disabled the suspect's black Jeep Patriot. 

He was arrested and handed over to the FBI. 

No one was injured.
