Michigan State Police: Man fired gunshot during road rage on M-14

SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police arrested a 38-year-old Whitmore Lake man after, police say, he admitted to firing a gunshot out of his Chevrolet Cavalier after he was involved in a crash with another vehicle Wednesday morning on eastbound M-14.

Police say the man became engaged in road rage with the 25-year-old driver of a GMC Yukon. It began on southbound US-23 near Joy Road and ended on eastbound M-14 near Ford Road in Superior Township.

The 25-year-old driver, of Brighton, was first to call 911. State police troopers located the vehicles. The Whitmore Lake man also called 911, state police say. He told troopers he put his gun out the driver's side window and fired a single shot.

No one was injured.

The shooter was arrested and is being held at the Washtenaw County Jail pending charges.
