Michigan woman arrested for allegedly overfilling CVS Pharmacy prescriptions for friends

Muryum Nasir Mohammad charged with one count of embezzlement

LAKE ORION, Mich. – A 21-year-old Leonard, Michigan, woman was arrested this week for allegedly overfilling prescriptions for her friends and relatives, costing CVS Pharmacy more than $2,000.

Police said they were called in March 2016 to the CVS Pharmacy on South Broadway in Lake Orion on reports of a technician overfilling prescriptions and undercharging friends and relatives for purchases.

Investigators said Muryum Nasir Mohammad had been performing price overrides and overfilling prescriptions for eight months.

Financial records revealed anomalies that led to evidence of Mohammad's involvement. CVS allegedly lost more than $2,000 in the theft.

Mohammad was arraigned Monday on one count of embezzlement -- a five-year felony.

She is being held on $10,000 bail. A probable-cause hearing is scheduled for March 30.
