Candlelight vigil held for Redford woman killed in stabbing

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A candlelight vigil was held Friday night for the Redford woman who was discovered Monday gruesomely stabbed and mutilated.

The vigil was held off 5 Mile Road between Telegraph and Beech Daly roads at 8 p.m.

Ann Marie Gorup's body was found Monday evening in her apartment on 5 Mile Road. She was 46.

Dexter Lamar Williams, 44, was living with Gorup. He was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and mutilation of a dead body. He was arraigned Thursday.

The community came together to remember Gorup and celebrate her life.
