ANN ARBOR, Mich. - A preliminary hearing that was supposed to be held Thursday for a man charged with the murder of a 25-year-old University of Michigan medical student was adjourned for another week.
Shaquille Jones, of South Carolina, is charged with open murder, two counts of home invasion and conspiracy to commit home invasion for the death of Paul DeWolf.
His new court date is Dec. 13.
DeWolf was found shot to death July 24 at his off-campus apartment after failing to report for work at a hospital.
Paul DeWolf was found dead in his Ann Arbor home the morning of July 24. An autopsy later confirmed he was shot to death.
Police have identified three suspects in his murder but only two face charges.
Joie Alexander Jordan, 20, is the second suspect charge. He's facing open murder, two counts of home invasion and conspiracy to commit home. His preliminary examination is scheduled for Dec. 12.
Police said the suspects do not appear to have any prior affiliation with DeWolf, the University of Michigan or the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his medical training and aspirations, DeWolf was an Air Force 2nd lieutenant.
