Anthony Delacruz

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Oakland County Sheriff's deputies say a Springfield Township man jumped out an apartment window and fled on foot in an attempt to avoid being arrested on Tuesday.

The Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old Anthony Delacruz had two warrants out for his arrest: one for domestic violence and one for failure to appear in court for sentencing on another domestic violence charge.

On Tuesday, Sheriff's deputies were called to the Bluewater Apartments because, they say, Delacruz violated a no-contact order by calling his ex-girlfriend who he allegedly assaulted. When deputies knocked on the door, Delacruz jumped out the back window and ran.

Deputies chased him through buildings and swampy woods south of the apartment complex. They surrounded him, caught him and arrested him.
