Motorcyclist shot, killed in Inkster; police search for gunman

27-year-old man shot, killed while riding motorcycle

INKSTER, Mich. – Shell casings and fiberglass were found on the ground Thursday night at the intersection of Carlysle and Fox streets in Inkster. 

That's where police said two men on motorcycles were part of shooting and one of them died from his wounds just a block away.

Both motorcyclist had taken off after shots were fired, but a 27-year-old man only made it to the corner. Police believe he was weak from blood loss and either dumped his bike or fell off. He died at the intersection of Carlysle Street and Middlebelt Road. However, someone had taken his dirt bike. 

Michigan State Police said they have a lead. They're looking for the drivers of two cars which were in the area about 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Police believe the drivers may have seen something.
