Murdered mother's family seeking answers in tragedy

Estranged husband Erin Justice charged with her murder

DETROIT – It's been almost six months since the discovery of Alicia Fox's body and the disappearance of her two children. To this day, there are still no signs of her children.

Her friends met in her memory and to garner support, hoping for answers.

The hard times for this family continue as Thanksgiving approaches. They've been waiting months for answers, but they haven't gotten any yet.

Fox would have turned 28 years old by now,.

"They always did something really nice for her birthday," said Travae Fox, Alicia's mom.

Family and friends gathered in the blistering cold to remember the times they shared with her. The stood outside the abandoned house on Pinrod Street in Detroit, where the mother's body was found back in June.

"It still feels like it's June," Travae Fox said. "It still feels like the beginning."

"It doesn't seem real to me at all," said Alicia's sister Christene Doughty. "I'm glad we got to have this vigil because it's the closest thing to a service that we've had to her."

The family is waiting to have a funeral because Alicia's two kids, 6-year-old Kayla and 8-month-old Christian, are still missing. The family wants the kids to be at their mother's funeral, but after nearly six months, finding hope is difficult.

"We want to hope for the best, but it's been so long, you know, we know how reality is," Doughty said.

Erin Justice, Alicia's estranged husband, is still in jail and charged with her murder. Family members believe Justice may know where the two young children are.

"Tell us where Kayla and Christian are," said Brenda Fields, Alicia's aunt. "So we can have a proper burial or a proper memorial for Alicia and we can move forward with knowing where the children are, if they're OK."

This case has been a mystery for police, but they are still working hard and hoping to get tips from the public. If you know anything or have any information connected to the case, you are asked to call police.

Justice was supposed to have a competency hearing earlier in November, but it was adjourned because an evaluation was never performed. No new date has been set and it's unclear if that evaluation has been performed. Police are still talking to him and he is behind bars.
