Elderly man injured when Nemo's Bar bus crashes in downtown Detroit

DETROIT – Police are investigating after a bar bus carrying passengers crashed near Cass Avenue and Bagley in downtown Detroit Sunday.

Detroit police said the bus, which belongs to Nemo's Bar and takes passengers from the bar to Tigers games, was on Bagley when a blue Nissan pulled out in front of it. The bus hit the car and crashed into the Leland Hotel apartments.

Police said an 86-year-old man who was walking on the sidewalk at the time of the crash was struck. He was taken to a hospital, where he is reported in serious condition.

A woman driving the Nissan was also taken to a hospital as a precaution, police said.

No injuries were reported to passengers on the bus.

Police said they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
