New Warren father charged in 4-month-old's fatal beating

Brandon Dunmire charged with first-degree murder, first-degree child abuse

WARREN, Mich. – A new Warren father accused of killing his own 4-month-old baby girl is in jail after being charged with murder and child abuse.

Brandon Dunmire is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree child abuse after his daughter was found dead Tuesday inside her mother’s home in Warren near 11 Mile and Hoover roads.

Warren police said Dunmire called 911 saying his daughter was not breathing. Paramedics found Naomi Reese unresponsive.

She was taken to a hospital where investigators learned she suffered from “multiple injuries consistent with being severely and repeatedly abused.” Naomi died two days later.

Police said Dunmire was alone with Naomi while her mother was at work. Her older half-brother was not there at the time.

If found guilty, Dunmire could spend the rest of his life in prison.
