DETROIT – East Lansing police say they've identified an 18-year-old suspect in the beating of a Michigan State University student. But police say the investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been issued yet.
In an interview with Local 4, Zach Tennen said he was assaulted early Sunday morning at a party just off the university's campus. Tennen said he was punched in the face after admitting he was Jewish.

"And they were making Nazi and Hitler symbols and they said they were part of the KKK," he said.
The 2011 Birmingham Groves High School graduate says he was knocked unconscious. When he woke up, he says, he found a staple in his mouth and took a cab to Sparrow Hospital.
Police have denied allegations that the attack was a hate crime. They said they have interviewed many witnesses but are still looking for more. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call police at 877-ELPD-TIP.
The suspect is from Farmington Hills.
