Police tell Local 4 that the victim was driving a stolen white pickup truck to drop off his girlfriend near the church. After the girlfriend got out of the vehicle, a man with a rifle ran between two homes and shot at the truck, striking the man.

Police say the shooter was waiting for the victim with another man in a black Escalade at the corner of the street.

The victim then crawled out of the passenger side of the truck. When the shooter noticed the victim getting out of the vehicle, he went to shoot again but stopped when people from the church came out to help.

The shooter then ran back to the Escalade and left the scene.

Police are looking for the shooter and do believe to know who he is.

The victim's condition is unknown at this time.
