Off-duty postal worker robbed, shot, Detroit police say

Police: Postal worker was in uniform, not on the job during incident

DETROIT – An off-duty postal worker was robbed and shot Saturday night, Detroit police said.

It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday at Schoolcraft Avenue and Telegraph Road.

Police said the postal worker was robbed and shot while in uniform, but not on the job.

One of the suspects was armed with a knife and the other suspect had a gun, police said.

The postal worker suffered what appeared to be a nonfatal gunshot wound, according to Detroit police.

Police described one of the suspects as a black male with a light complexion who is under the age of 21 and is 6 feet 2 inches tall. The other suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion with a short, stocky build who wore a skull cap, police said.
