One dead in Kimball Township fire

KIMBALL TOWNSHIP, Mich. – One person is dead after an early morning house fire in St. Clair County's Kimball Township.

Fire and rescue responders were dispatched Friday morning after a 3:20 a.m. emergency call. Kimball Township Fire Chief Ed Gratz said the house was engulfed in flames when they arrived and requested assistance from three neighboring departments.

Fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire around 7:40 a.m. Two neighboring homes and two cars were also damaged in the fire.

The victim has not been identified positively because of the severity of the fire. Officials have not said when they will be able to release the victim's name.
