One killed in Washington Township accident

Alcohol may have been factor in crash

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Ben Hessell, a 25-year old Washington Township man, was killed around 1 a.m. Saturday in a one-vehicle crash.

Hessell was traveling eastbound on 27 Mile Road when his 2013 Chevy Impala left the road and hit a utility pole. He was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigations show that Hessell was wearing his seat belt, but alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
