Starting prices for single and adjoining seats range from $100 to more than $400, according to the auction listing.

"We felt it was important that some of the artifacts and items that are no longer required be made available now to Silverdome fans here in Detroit and around North America," said Andreas Apostolopoulos, president of Triple Investment Group. "We continue to assess the status of the building to determine its viability as a venue for sports and entertainment events. We are continuing to investigate all potential revenue options for the site."

The Silverdome hosted some of the world's largest and best-known events in its initial 30 years of operation, including the Super Bowl, the FIFA World Cup, the NBA's All-Star Game and NBA Finals, WrestleMania III and concerts by some of the world's biggest names in music. It was also home to the Detroit Lions until 2002.

The largest recorded event at the Silverdome was the 1987 Mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II for more than 93,000 attendees.
