Police arrest man in connection with threatening video posted on Twitter

19-year-old suspect turned himself Saturday afternoon

DETROIT – Police have arrested man who allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old man at a liquor store before posting a cellphone video of the threat on Twitter.

The 19-year-old male suspect was arrested after he turned himself in at the Detroit Police Department, Saturday afternoon. 

The assault happened in the 22000 block of Lyndon Street outside the Brightmoor Liquor Beer & Wine Store.

The suspect was allegedly sitting in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle when he pointed a handgun at the victim while yelling derogatory remarks, homophobic slurs and demands.

The victim ducked out of the direction of the weapon and walked away.

He has been charged with Felonious Assault, Carrying a Concealed Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, and Felony Firearm.

He was given a $250,000 cash bond with orders to stay away from the victim.
