2 women found shot to death in Inkster home

Police say shooting wasn't random

INKSTER, Mich. – Inskter police say they are working multiple leads in the shooting deaths of two women in Inkster.

Police found the victims just before 2 a.m. Tuesday in a home in the 27000 block of Florence.

They both had been shot.

"This is not a random act of violence. This appears to be targeted. We have multiple leads at this time that we're following up on vigorously," said Inkster Police Chief Vicky Yost.

Family members have identified the victims as friends Shara Newell and Miracle Rogers. They were also both mothers.

Newell leaves behind five children.

"I am devastated over this ... this is unbelievable," Newell's mother, Gwendolyn Baker, said.

Baker said she's thankful the children were not in the home at the time of the shooting.

Deneisha Shaw was friends with both Newell and Rogers.

"Miracle she loved her kids too. She lived life too the fullest," Shaw said.
