Police witness man crash into tree in Southfield, find gunshot victim inside

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A man who police witnessed crashing into a tree in Southfield was found to have a gun shot wound to the shoulder, according to police.

Southfield police said they witnessed the man crashing into a tree after drifting across 8 Mile Road.

Officers on scene found the victim with injuries and initially thought they were caused by the crash.

Emergency crews at the scene discovered that the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Police do not know where the man was shot.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police are investigating and have not revealed the identity of the victim, only saying he’s a 54-year-old Farmington Hills resident.
