Despite heavy criticism from top Republican leaders from all over the country, Trump said he is not dropping out.

This all comes just hours after Trump apologized for having a lewd conversation about women back in 2005, which was caught on tape.

"I've never said I'm a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I'm not. I've said and done things I regret and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them," Trump said. "Anyone who knows me knows these words don't reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong and I apologize."

On Saturday, Lt. Gov. Brian Calley became the first Republican leader in Michigan to call on Trump to drop out of the race.

A statement released to the Detroit News reads, in part, "The latest revelations about Donald Trump and his past make it impossible for me to maintain support of him. It would be best for the party, and America, if Mr. Trump would step aside and allow a replacement to provide the kind of option America could believe in."

Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ronna Romney McDaniel released a statement Saturday regarding the recently released audio of comments made by Trump.

"As a woman, as the mother of a 13-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son, and as a Republican, I find Mr. Trump's comments reprehensible and disgusting. Mr. Trump has apologized for the comments he made 11 years ago, but needs to do so again and again if he hopes to gain back any semblance of public trust," McDaniel said in the statement. "I am confident that Michiganders know that Donald Trump's comments represent only himself, and other Republicans do not share his views. Donald Trump's comments are his alone to own and I cannot and will not defend them."

"No person should ever talk about women the way Trump talked in that conversation," Rep. Mike Bishop said. "I am disgusted by it. Sen. John McCain said it best when he said, ‘He alone bears the burden of his conduct and alone should suffer the consequences.'"
