WASHINGTON – Rep. Brenda Lawrence announced Thursday her formal request for a hearing on the public health crisis of high concentrations of lead in the drinking water in Flint.
Lawrence, who is ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Interoir, made her request to Chairman Jason Chaffetz and Subcommittee Chairman Cynthia Lummis.

Lawrence represents Michigan's 14th congressional district. She served as the mayor of Southfield from 2001-2015.
